Edit your yard map from the computer. Nothing reaches the robot until you press Save changes, and a backup is taken first, every time.
To open it:Settings → Map editingsign in with your Yarbo account, then choose Edit map. Your changes stay on the computer until you save.More than one robot? Pick which robot's map you're editing from the list at the top, and save first: switching robots reloads the map.
Move around
ScrollZoom in on the cursor, out for the whole yard.
✋ PanThen drag anywhere to slide the map, changing nothing.
SpaceHold and drag to pan from any tool. Release to go back.
FitBack to the whole yard, framed the way it was when the map opened. Bottom-right, under the zoom buttons.
‹The arrow at the top of the side panel folds it away for more room. Click again to bring it back.
Select & move a zone
SelectClick a zone to select it. Nothing moves in this mode.
MoveSwitch to Move, then drag the zone. Yardstick tells you how far it went, and Ctrl+Z puts it back.
SaveNothing reaches the robot until you Save changes.
Edit the outline
DragThe corners show as white dots; drag one to move it.
Add pointThen click an edge to drop a new corner.
Remove pointThen click the dot you want gone.
Snap to align, for clean straight edges
Drag nearPull a point close to another point and it jumps exactly onto it, which is good for closing a gap or making two shapes meet.
Line upWhen a point lines up with another's position it locks into line and a pink dashed guide appears. Vertical means aligned with a point above or below, horizontal means beside.
AltHold while dragging to place freely, with no snapping.
NoteSnaps only to points on visible layers, so a layer that is turned off won't pull toward it.
Add a zone
SquareCirclePick a starting outline…
Add shape……then choose the type. It drops in the center of your view to reshape from there.
ShiftDragHold Shift while dragging a corner to resize the whole shape and keep its proportions, so a square stays square.
Working on a zone
Name boxWith a zone selected, type its name in the toolbar. It's the name you see in the Shapes list and in the Yarbo app.
SettingsPer-zone mowing height and speed, obstacle avoidance, and the settings for whichever attachment is fitted.
On / OffPark a zone without deleting it. It keeps its shape and settings and is skipped when the robot works.
− 1″+ 1″Shrink or grow the whole outline an inch at a time, keeping its shape. Handy when a zone sits slightly too tight against a bed or border.
SplitCut one zone into two. Both halves keep the zone's settings.
Orange ringsAfter a split, bend the border between the halves: select either half and drag an orange ring on the shared border. Both zones follow, so no gap or overlap opens. The two ends stay locked where the cut met the outside edge.
CombineJoin two touching zones into one. See the Combine card.
Delete shapeRemoves the selected shape when you save. A backup is taken first, so it can be restored even after saving.
Layers & the side panel
LayersShow or hide each type. The geofence starts hidden so it stays out of the way.
Aerial photoTurn the photo of your property under the map on or off.
Robot locationShows where the robot is, read from your recording. Nothing is sent to the robot. Center on robot jumps the view to it.
Shapes listClick a name to select that zone and zoom to it.
ReloadReads the map from the robot again. If you have unsaved edits, it asks first.
Combine two zones into one
SelectClick the zone you want to keep. It keeps its name and all of its settings.
CombinePress Combine, then click the touching zone to fold into it. Esc cancels.
CheckYardstick first shows what will happen: the zone that goes away, and any travel paths, patrol lines or plans it will point at the zone you kept. Press OK and the combined zone appears on the map.
Save changesLike every other edit, nothing changes on the robot until you press Save changes. Until then, Undo takes the combine back. Save takes a backup first, so Restore in the Backups panel undoes it afterwards.
NoteThe two zones must share an edge; corners within about 10 inches count as meeting. Zones that only meet at a corner, overlap, or touch in two separate places can't be combined. Combine is grayed out while you have unsaved changes, so combine one pair, save, then the next. It can't be used while Yarbo is working.
Backups
Back upType a name and press Back up to save a snapshot of the map as it is on the robot.
Date and timeEvery backup shows when it was taken under its name, so backups with the same name are easy to tell apart.
RestorePuts that snapshot back on the robot, replacing the current map. Not available while Yarbo is working.
YS-autoThe backups Yardstick takes before every save. It keeps the latest three and tidies away older ones itself. It never deletes one you named.
KeepMark a backup to keep and Yardstick won't tidy it away.
Robot's ownBackups the robot makes itself are replaced by the robot over time. To hold on to one, restore it, then press Back up with a name.
Snow throw and blowing lines
Two kindsYellow lines show where snow is thrown and orange lines where leaves are blown. Tick Throwing direction or Blowing direction in Layers to see them. Drawing a new line turns its layer on for you.
+ Throw line+ Blowing lineSelect the area or pathway first, then press the button for the kind you want. Either kind can be drawn whatever is attached to the robot.
While you drawA bar across the top of the map shows what you are drawing, on which area, and how many points it has. Click points along the direction you want. Clicks on the border count as points too.
DoneDouble-click the last point, press Done or press Enter to finish. Cancel or Esc throws the line away. A shape can have as many lines as you like.
Shape itA finished line comes up selected. Drag a dot to move a point, or drag a ring between two dots to bend the line there.
SelectClick a line later to edit it: it thickens and its dots and rings appear. The area itself isn't affected.
Add pointRemove pointWith a line selected, these work on the line, not the area. A line keeps at least two points.
Delete throw lineRemoves the selected line only. The area and its other lines stay. With a blowing line selected it reads Delete blowing line.
Stays on the shapeA line dragged more than 3 m off its area or pathway is pulled back. Drawing along the boundary is fine.
SaveLines are stored on their area or pathway and save with it. Nothing reaches the robot until you press Save changes.
Saving (the important part)
Save changesNothing reaches the robot until you press this, and Yardstick takes a backup automatically first, every time. A red dot on the button means you have unsaved changes, and a second Save changes appears in the top bar until you save.
CtrlZUndo while you work, and Ctrl+Y to redo. The Undo and Redo buttons do the same.
LockedEditing locks while Yarbo is working. You can still pan, zoom and look around, and it unlocks when the job finishes or is canceled in the Yarbo app.
Then waitGive it a few seconds and the change shows in the Yarbo app. You can edit in either place.
BackupsThe Backups panel lets you name, restore, or delete snapshots to roll back any time.
