Can I see my Yarbo in Home Assistant?

Yes, through Yardstick, over your own network. Six sensors, and nothing in Home Assistant can move the robot.

The short answer Yes. Yardstick adds your Yarbo to Home Assistant with its own integration, found automatically on your network. It is read only: six sensors you can build automations and dashboards around.

The six sensors

Battery
Charge percentage.
Online
Whether the robot is reachable and reporting.
Charging
Whether it is on the dock taking charge.
Activity
What it is doing: mowing, travelling, idle, charging.
RTK signal
How well it can place itself right now.
Fault code
The code the robot is reporting, if any.

Read only, and why

Nothing in Home Assistant can start, stop or move your Yarbo, and that is a decision rather than an oversight.

A machine with blades should not be moved by an automation that cannot see it. Yardstick does not offer driving at all, from Home Assistant or anywhere else, and the commands it does offer, starting a plan and sending the robot home, stay on its own pages where you press the button yourself.

What that gives you anyway Plenty. Alert when the battery has not charged overnight, put the mower's state on a dashboard beside everything else, notice a fault code the moment it appears, or record how much of the week the machine spent working.

Setting it up

  1. Have HACS installed

    The community add-on store for Home Assistant, set up once.

  2. Press Add to Home Assistant

    In Yardstick, under Settings, Home Assistant. It opens your Home Assistant with Yardstick ready to download.

  3. Let it find the robot

    Home Assistant discovers this Yardstick on its own and offers to configure it. If it does not appear, add it by hand with the address Yardstick shows you.
