Move from Yardstick on your computer to Yardstick Anywhere

One button on your computer starts it. Your yard, its history and everything you set up come with you, and the unused part of a paid license becomes credit on Yardstick Anywhere.

Where it lives: Start on your computer in Settings → Yardstick Anywhere Finish in your web browser
The short version In Yardstick on your computer, open Settings → Yardstick Anywhere and press Move to Yardstick Anywhere, then the yellow button on the next page. Your browser opens Yardstick Anywhere: create your account (or sign in), link your Yarbo, see your license credit, choose a plan, and your history starts moving. Keep the computer on until the copy is done.
Before you start Update Yardstick on your computer to the latest version first. A yard can be moved onto a Yardstick Anywhere account once. Nothing on your computer is deleted by moving.

1. On your computer

  1. Open Settings, then Yardstick Anywhere

In Yardstick on your computer, press Settings at the top and choose Yardstick Anywhere under Account on the left. Press Move to Yardstick Anywhere.

The card in Settings. It lists what comes with you.
  1. Check what comes with you, and press the yellow button

The move page counts what will come across: readings, map snapshots, daily summaries, alerts and saved paths. Press Move to Yardstick Anywhere in the yellow box. Your browser opens Yardstick Anywhere in a new tab.

2. In your browser

A strip along the top shows where you are: your account, your Yarbo, your credit, your plan, and your history.

  1. Create your account, or sign in

New to Yardstick Anywhere? Press Create my account. Already have one? Press I already have an account. Either way you come straight back to the move.

The first page of the move in the browser: Move your Yardstick to Yardstick Anywhere, the four steps, and the Create my account and I already have an account buttons.
The first page, before you sign in.
  1. Link your Yarbo account

Type the email and password you use in the Yarbo app. Yardstick Anywhere checks that the robot you are moving is on that account.

  2. See your license credit

If you bought a Yardstick license, the unused part of it is shown as credit. Press Add my credit and continue. It comes off your first bill on Yardstick Anywhere. Your computer's license keeps working until your plan is paid for, then for up to two more weeks, so you can check everything first.

Your license credit: 277 of 365 days left, $26.50 of credit, and the Add my credit and continue button.
The credit step. Your own figures will differ.
  1. Choose your plan

Pick Basic or Premium, monthly or yearly, and check out. With a paid license, choosing a plan is part of the move. On a free trial, your trial's remaining days come with you.

Choose your plan: Monthly or Yearly, Basic at $9.95 a month and Premium at $14.95 a month, with the credit coming off the first bill.
The plan step. The full list of what each plan includes is further down the page.
  1. Your history moves

As soon as your plan is set up, Yardstick on your computer starts copying your yard. Keep it running until the copy is done, usually a few minutes. Then Yardstick Anywhere adds your history to your account, which can take 20 to 30 minutes for a big yard. You can close the page: we email you when it is done.

Your history is on its way: keep Yardstick running on your computer until the copy is done, and a progress bar.
The last step. This page changes to Open my yard when everything has arrived.

After the move

What came with you
The last 90 days of your recording, map snapshots, alerts, programs and curfew, no-go zone rules, mowing direction, robot names, logbook, drone photo and seasonal heights.
What stays on the computer
The computer's own settings and your Yarbo sign-in there. Nothing on the computer is deleted.
Only one of them runs the yard
Yardstick on your computer switches its own scheduling, mowing direction and smart no-go zones off, so the two never send your Yarbo out at once. Yardstick Anywhere takes over.
Your license
With a paid license, its unused part is credit on Yardstick Anywhere, and the license is not charged again.

If the browser tab did not open: use a code

  1. Get a code on Yardstick Anywhere

Sign in at portal.yardstickhome.com and open Settings. Under Move an installed Yardstick here, press Get a code.

  2. Type it on your computer

On the move page in Yardstick on your computer, type the code into Or use a code and press Start the move. The code is good for thirty minutes.

It says a Yardstick was already moved here

Each Yardstick Anywhere account takes one move. Yardstick Anywhere has recorded your robot ever since, so a second move would count those days twice. Open a ticket if you need to move another one.

The move stopped

Make sure the computer is on and Yardstick is running: it carries on from where it stopped.
