A licence key runs on one computer at a time. Moving it takes two steps: release it from the computer that has it, then paste the same key on the new one.
If that computer still runs Yardstick, do it there — open Settings → Licence and press Release this computer. It is immediate and needs nothing else. Use the form below when that machine is gone, broken, or you no longer have it.
Paste the key from your emailed receipt. It starts with
YSK1. We will email you a code to confirm it is you.
Open Yardstick on the computer you want to use and go to Settings → Licence. If the key is already on that machine, press Try again — there is nothing to paste. On a new machine, paste the key in and press Activate.
It can take a few minutes for the release to reach your installs. Nothing is lost while you wait, and nothing stops recording.
A subscription covers your household, not the internet. Tying a key to a machine is what keeps the price where it is — and releasing it yourself means you never have to ask us to do it.
The code is why nobody else can. Your key on its own cannot move your licence: whoever asks has to be reading the inbox that bought it.
Recording never stops, whatever the licence says. If a key is registered elsewhere, this computer keeps recording your Yarbo and shows you the history again the moment the licence is back in order.
